Who We Are
Experience That Sits Behind the Work.
Search Recovery was formed from years spent working inside addiction and mental health marketing.
We have written, designed, and optimised websites across these sectors long enough to see how decisions made early can create consequences later. Not just in performance, but in credibility, expectations, and the conversations services and clinicians have to manage every day.
Search Recovery exists to help clinics communicate their value with clarity and compassion, while standing out for the right reasons.
About Search Recovery
Search Recovery was founded by Rob and Ellyn.
Between us, we bring over a decade of experience working in digital marketing, branding, and copywriting, with a specific focus on addiction and mental health. Over that time, we’ve worked on websites, content, and search strategies that were designed to attract attention, generate enquiries, and support growth.
We’ve also seen what happens after that initial success, when decisions made for performance begin to affect credibility, expectations, and the day to day reality of running a service or practice.
That exposure shapes how we think about this work.
So, we asked: what if we could use everything we know about digital strategy to do the opposite, to help the good clinics win online, without compromising their ethics?
Where our experience comes from
Our experience comes from doing the work, repeatedly, across different organisations, different models of care, and different stages of growth. We’ve worked with independent providers, group operators, and individual clinicians, often stepping into situations where marketing had evolved faster than confidence could support.
We’ve seen enquiries increase while conversations became harder. We’ve seen confident language bring attention but raise doubts further down the line. We’ve also seen traffic rise and fall as search behaviour shifted and Google updates reshaped what gets surfaced and what doesn’t. Strategies that once looked stable became volatile, not because the work was wrong, but because the system around it had changed.
Over time, we’ve learned that the most stable growth comes from positioning that can stand up to scrutiny, rather than tactics designed to force momentum. That understanding shapes how we work and who we choose to work with. Not because it sounds better, but because it holds up when conditions change.
Lived experience, handled carefully
Alongside professional experience, we also bring personal lived experience of addiction and mental health.
We’re careful about how we talk about that.
It doesn’t make us clinicians, and it doesn’t place us inside anyone else’s journey. What it does give us is a sharper sense of when marketing language starts to overreach, oversimplify, or apply pressure where it doesn’t belong.
It reinforces the importance of restraint, accuracy, and proportion in how services and clinicians present themselves.
We build trust through transparency and being human
Experience That Makes Decisions Easier
We bring experience from working inside addiction and mental health marketing long enough to see what holds up and what doesn’t. Our role is to reduce avoidable problems later by making better decisions earlier.
